Del Norte Clinics, Inc. (DNCI) has been providing quality family health services for more than 44 years. DNCI is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center system serving the Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sutter and Yuba Counties of California.
We are a network of Migrant and Community Health Centers serving farmworkers and other low-income populations. In the five rural northern California conties we serve, we provide comprehensive primary medical and dental care to an ethnically diverse population, including migrant and seasonal farm workers with 13 medical facilities, 6 dental clinics and a mobile heath center.
Del Norte Clinics, Inc., originated in 1964 in the form of a medical care project for migrant farm workers under the State Farm Workers Health Service and Migrant Health Act Fund. It was called the Sutter-Yuba Farm Workers Health Project, and the County of Sutter was grantee for the funds. It was operated as a night clinic in the Sutter County General Hospital.
In the Spring of 1973, the Consumer Advisory Board incorporated as a non-profit organization, at the suggestion of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, to become Northern Sacramento Valley Rural Health Project, Inc. This corporation became the grantee for the 1973-74 Migrant Health Act Funds and continued to provide the same basic health care services. With more funding and a full-time Executive Director, it was possible to expand the service area from Sutter and Yuba Counties to Butte, Colusa, and Glenn Counties.
